The following persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:
1. A 62-year-old male has been arrested for breaching his release document. Terry McKersie of 315 Gillies Street was on an undertaking to reside at 315 Gillies and follow directions concerning medication. It’s believed that the accused did not follow either of these instructions and therefore was apprehended by police yesterday morning on Queen Street East.
2. A 13-year-old youth has been charged with 1 count of assault with a weapon, 1 count of threatening death and 2 counts of breach of probation. It’s alleged that the youth assaulted his mother with a hockey stick and threatened to cause her bodily harm. The youth was on a probation order to keep the peace and be good and not to molest, harass or annoy his mother. The accused was arrested last evening just before 9pm at his west end residence.
3. Last night just before midnight 2 males were arrested on Francis Street. It’s believed that the two males smashed the window out of a vehicle on Beatrice Street then attempted to steal the car stereo. They were apprehended minutes later on Francis Street by Police. Charged with 1 count of mischief under $5000, 1 count of personation and 1 count of theft under $5000 is 21-year-old David Christiansen of 45 St. Andrew’s Terrace. 18-year-old Derek Bob of no fixed address has also been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000, 1 count of mischief under $5000 and 2 counts of breach of probation.
Charged with Stealing from Rome's
25-year-old Mary-Jo Desmoulin of 17 Clearview Drive has been charged with 1 count of theft under $5000.
It’s believed that the accused attended at Romes Grocery store and placed items in her purse then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. She was apprehended outside of the store just before 2pm by security. City Police were called and the accused was arrested and is to appear in court on the 19 of February.
Criminal Harassment Charges
A 32-year-old female has been charged with 1 count of criminal harassment. It’s alleged that the accused sent numerous letters and made a number of calls to the complainant at his place of employment and his home. City police arrested the accused yesterday just after 7pm at the Police Station. She is to appear in court on the 26th of February.
