MAN REFUSED TO LEAVE RESIDENCE Yesterday at about 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to a home on Pim St, where an adult female had asked William Vincent to leave her residence but he refused.
MAN REFUSED TO LEAVE RESIDENCE
Yesterday at about 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to a home on Pim St, where an adult female had asked William Vincent to leave her residence but he refused. Police asked Vincent, age 23 of no fixed address to leave but he again refused. Vincent was arrested for breach of undertaking and failing to leave the premise when directed.

Vincent breached his undertaking by not notifying city police of address change. He has been charged under the Trespass to Property Act with Failing to Leave Premise when Directed and under the Criminal Code with Breach of Undertaking. He is scheduled for bail court today on his criminal charge.


BOYS ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
Yesterday at approximately 4:15 pm, a 14-year-old male in company of another 14-year-old male was in the Zellers Store at 306 Northern Avenue. The accused was observed selecting a pair of "Cobra" walkie-talkie radios from the Electronic Section valued at $98.86.

The two youths were observed walking throughout the store, one of the youths was observed opening the factory packaging with his teeth.

Staff at the store exit approached the accused after they made no attempt to pay for the now-concealed items. The accused pushed past the investigating employees and began to run. Both young males were apprehended by staff and taken to the security office.

Both radios were recovered from the accused. As a result of the investigation, one of the youths was arrested and charged by Police for Theft under $5,000.00. The other youth was released unconditionally. The 14-year-old will appear in youth court in late Feb.


MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING EACH OTHER
Yesterday at 9:30 pm, at a residence on Market Street, a 28-year-old male assaulted a 24-year-old female by punching her on the right side of her face causing her eye to visibly bruise and swell. The female also assaulted the male by punching and scratching him on the head area.

This assault also occurred at about 9:30 pm. Patrol officers went to the residence and arrested and charged both individuals with Assault. The female was also charged with Breach of Probation. They are scheduled to appear in court Feb. 17th.


TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated 14 motor vehicle collisions yesterday. These collisions were caused by slippery road conditions and reduced visibility.

Motorists are reminded that vehicles exiting driveways or turning onto roadways may have reduced visibility because of snow banks and blowing snow. Everyone using the roadways is reminded to slow down and use extra care when approaching intersections or areas where other vehicles are entering the roadways.
