21-year old Michael Radford of 732 Frontenac Street and 21-year old Wayne McInnis of 2-12 Digby Crescent will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that shortly before 9 pm last night the 2 accused persons broke into a fenced compound of the SDM Systems at 536 Second Line West. Once inside the compound the 2 accused persons opened the door to the shop and were met by the shop owner, who immediately called police. Both accused were taken into custody. At the time of the offence both accused were on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good. Mr. McInnis was on a release document not to consume alcohol and an odour of an alcoholic beverage could be detected on him when he was arrested. Both males have been charged with one count each of break and enter with intent. Mr. Radford has additionally been charged with 3 counts of breach of probation. Mr. McInnis was further charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of a release order.

Male Charged with Assault

A 31-year old male will appear in bail court after City Police attended a west end residence for a domestic dispute last night shortly after 11 pm. It is alleged that the male pushed his wife and grabbed her by the throat. The accused also threatened to kill her. When officers were taking the accused person to the police cruiser the accused began screaming loudly causing several neighbours to be disturbed by the noise. The male was on probation at the time of the offence with conditions to keep the peace and be good. The accused has been charged with one count of assault, two counts of breach of probation, one count of cause a disturbance and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.

Breach of Release Order

19-year old Craig McKie of 5-315 John Street was stopped yesterday afternoon by patrol officers while operating a vehicle. A police query of the accused showed him living at a different address than the address he had provided as part of a release document. It is alleged that the accused failed to notify his change of address as per the release document. As a result of that the accused was charged with one count of breach of a release order and will appear in court on March 14th.

Break and Enter

36-year old Line Duguay of 325 Chamber Street was arrested last evening. It is alleged that on the 7th of February the accused broke into a home in the 100 block of Vera Avenue and stole a computer and some medication. In addition to this incident it is also alleged that the accused continually harassed another female by contacting her repeatedly. The accused has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, and one count of criminal harassment. The accused will appear in court on March 14th.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Around 7:30 pm last night City Police attended at the intersection of Great Northern and McNabb Street for an accident with injuries. It is alleged that a car driven Anthony Rossi Jr of 166 Plaintree was heading southbound on Great Northern Road attempting to turn left onto McNabb Street. A northbound car being operated by Jacqueline Blais of Root River was struck when the Rossi vehicle turned in front of it. The driver and an occupant of the Blais vehicle were taken by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Rossi Jr. has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of left turn-fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision.

Break and Enters Reported

City Police received 2 break and enter reports yesterday. Last evening a homeowner in the 700 block of Goulais Avenue reported that their shed had been broken into some time over the last few days. Mechanical tools and air tools were taken. A home in the 200 block of Brown Street was entered last evening and a DVD player was also taken.
