Arrests/Charged Persons : On February 6, 2013 Robyn Mary Eshkibok age 32 of 416 Old Garden River Road turned herself in at the police station regarding an outstanding warrant for failing to attend for finger prints.

On February 6, 2013 Robyn Mary Eshkibok age 32 of 416 Old Garden River Road turned herself in at the police station regarding an outstanding warrant for failing to attend for finger prints. The warrant was executed and the accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 11, 2013 at 9:00 am.

On February 6, 2013 a young person, age 14 turned himself in on a charge of assault. It is alleged that on February 4, 2013 the accused sprayed the victim in the face and eyes with listerine, causing discomfort to the victim for several hours. The accused will appear in youth court on March 12, 2013 at 9:30 am.

On February 6, 2013, Blind River OPP apprehended an accused female age 51 of no fixed address.  It was found that Sault Ste. Marie Police Services had an outstanding warrant for charges of public mischief and mischief. The accused will appear in bail court February 7, 2013 at 10:00am

Theft:

Between Friday February 1, 2013 and Tuesday February 5, 2013 a relay box owned by Canada Post went missing from the area of the Market Mall on Second Line West.

Update to MVC with injuries from November 11, 2012

Officers from Investigation Services and Traffic Services have completed a lengthy investigation into a motor vehicle collision with injuries that occurred shortly after midnight on November 11, 2012 at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Kohler Street. 

As a result of the investigation 24-year old Matthew Gerrard Conway of 306 Lake Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario has been charged with one count of impaired driving causing bodily harm.  He will appear in court on March 11, 2013. 

Additionally he has been summonsed under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of turn left-not in safety and one count of driver fail to wear seatbelt.  

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.

News Release November 13, 2012

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are continuing their investigation into a motor vehicle collision that occurred shortly after midnight on November 11, 2012, at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Kohler Street. 

During the collision, a silver Dodge Nitro collided with a Black Chevy pickup truck. 

As a result of the collision, a number of people, who were all passengers in the involved vehicles, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

At this point the investigation is being conducted by the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service with the assistance of officers from the Criminal Investigations Division.

City police executed a warrant at 21 Grosvenor Street on Tuesday and as a result 2 men were arrested  and charged with several offences. 31 year old Shawn Mearow and 30 year old Henry Cadreau both face criminal code charges of possession of ammunition while prohibited, and breach of probation. Both men are also charged with 2 counts of possession a controlled substance and 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. They will appear in bail court this morning.

33 year old Jason Solomon will also appear in bail court this morning after he was arrested for failing to reappear in court in August of 2012.
