Domestic Dispute Ends With Charges Laid

Yesterday evening at approx. 9:00pm officers attended a west end residence in regards to a domestic dispute. It is alleged that the male involved assaulted his common law wife by pulling her hair and throwing her onto the floor, causing her head to strike a piece of furniture. The victim did not require any medical treatment. The accused has been charged with 1 count of assault and is to appear in bail court today.

Break and Enters

Late yesterday afternoon, officers arrested a number of persons in relation to three break and enters. On the 6th of December 3 homes in the100 block of Grandmont Cres, Grandriver Cres, and Grand Blvd were broken into. Jewellery, electronics, money and a paintball gun were taken. On the 7th of December while investigating these incidents, officers attended at 5 Wilcox Avenue the address of 18yr old John Bennett. Officers found all of the accused persons in possession of all of the stolen property from the three break and enters except for the paint ball gun. John Bennett has been charged with 3 counts of break and enter, 3 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and 1 count of breach of release document, and will appear in bail court today. 19yr old Dustin Schrik of 634 Lennox Avenue has been charged with 3 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and will appear in bail court today. 24 yr old Kevin Bennett of no fixed address, 20 yr old Andrea Dvorak of 1935 Baseline, 19 yr old Jamie Hill of 494 Highway East #17 and a 17 year old young person have all been charged with 3 counts each of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The adults will appear in court on January 10th and the youth will appear in court on January 11th.

Police Advise Caution On Icy Roads

Although there were very few accidents reported yesterday, City Police are advising the public to continue to drive carefully and be aware of icy roads.
