On the 23rd of December 2014 at approximately 1:30pm officers from Patrol Services attended an east end residence and located a male wanted for a domestic charge of breaching his Recognizance of Bail. It is alleged that on the 22nd of December 2014 the accused communicated with the victim and breached his release condition. A 36 yr old male has been charged with breaching his Recognizance and will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.
On the 23rd of December 2014 at approximately 1:40pm officers from Patrol Services attended a downtown residence and located a male wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. Charged is Michael John BARANYAI 35yrs of Pim Street SSM, Ont. with breach of Probation. The accused will appear in Adult Court on the 26th of January 2015.
On the 23rd of December 2014 at approximately 5 pm officers from Patrol Services attended a local address and arrested a male wanted on a number of domestic charges. Between the 22nd and 23rd of December 2014 it is alleged the accused assaulted the victim by pushing her and causing her to hit her head against the frame of a closet. A 23 yr old male has been charged with Assault and two counts of Breaching his Probation Order by not keeping the peace and being of good behavior and consuming alcohol. The accused will appear in Bail Court this morning.
On the 23rd of December 2014 at approximately 7:40 pm officers from Patrol Services attended a downtown residence to remove an intoxicated male. Further, investigation by officers revealed that the accused was wanted on an outstanding Arrest Warrant for domestic charges. In addition, the accused breached his Probation Order conditions again resulting in further charges. A 44yr old male has been charged with eight counts of Breaching his Probation Order by not keeping the peace and being of good behavior, communicating with the victim, molesting and harassing the victim, and attending her residence. The accused will appear in Bail Court later this morning.
On the 23rd of December 2014 at approximately 8:40 pm officers from Patrol Services attended the Walmart Store located at 293 Bay Street with regards to a trespassing complaint. Further investigation revealed that the female officers were dealing with had an outstanding Arrest Warrant for Theft under $5,000. In addition, upon arrest police [allegedly] located on the accused a number of stolen clothing items that were taken from the Walmart Store and a stolen purse that was taken from Beauty Tips in the Cambrian Mall on the 22nd of December 2014. Charged with three counts of Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime is 33yr old Shannon BOYER of John Street SSM. She will appear in Bail Court later this morning.
On the 24th of December 2014 at approximately 2:04am officers from Patrol Services responded to a robbery at the Macs Convenience Store on Gore Street. A lone male entered the store wearing a balaclava stating that he had a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled on foot westbound on Cathcart Street with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes. The suspect is described as: White male, 5’5”-5’7”, 100-115lbs, thin-small build, wearing: brown-green winter jacket with grey stripes and a big zero on the top back of the jacket, track pants, black running shoes, red sweater, carrying a blue-black sports bag. The store employee was unhurt during the incident. Police checked the area and were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. This incident is still under investigation, anyone with information is urged to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
