Domestic Related Arrest Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43 year-old male at 4:03 am this morning at the police station on an outstanding domestic related warrant.

Domestic Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43 year-old male at 4:03 am this morning at the police station on an outstanding domestic related warrant.  It is alleged that between 29th of October and the 4th of December 2011, the accused damaged several household belongings of his ex-girlfriend.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Michael Gingras of 2820 Mission Road, Goulais River on the 13th of December at 8:50 pm at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre on an outstanding warrant and charged him with one count of personation with intent and two counts of breach of a release document.  It is alleged that on the 11th of November at approximately 3:26 am the accused falsely identified himself to police when he was being checked in an alleyway in the area of Andrews Street. 

At the time he was in company of a female that he was on an undertaking with conditions that he not communicate with, and further, he was under the influence of alcohol and on was on conditions that he not consume any alcohol.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning. 

Female Youth Charged with Assault

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old female on the 13th of December at 11 pm after responding to a family dispute at her residence.  It is alleged that the accused assaulted her mother by punching her several times. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning. 

Prisoner at Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre Arrested for Drug Possession

On the 13th of December at 2:37 pm, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23 year-old Daniel Lepage while he was in custody at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.  It is alleged that on the 13th of December at approximately 12:20 pm a correctional officer found the accused in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  Police were called and the accused was subsequently arrested.  He is to appear in court on the 9th of January. 

Break and Enter Reports 

  • A residence on Henrietta Avenue was broken into yesterday.  The home was ransacked and medication and jewellery was reported stolen.
  • A residence on Birch Street was entered on the 12th of December.  Cash, lottery tickets and wine was reported taken. 
  • Two sheds were broken into on Market Street.  Tires, rims, Luggage, shoes and boots were reported stolen. 
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a local high school.
