Youth Arrested in Connection with Clearview Robbery
Officers from Investigation Services arrested a 17-year old youth yesterday. It is alleged that on the 1st of December the male broke into a residence on Clearview Drive and assaulted the male homeowner. It is further alleged that the youth took some property and liquor from the residence. During the offence the accused had his face covered. The youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of robbery, one count of disguise with intent-face masked and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA). The accused will appear in bail court this morning.
Charged with Assault of Wife and Breach
A 39-year old male was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his estranged wife. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with a number of conditions. The incident occurred in the City’s east end. He will appear in bail court this morning.
Assault and Threatening
A 45-year old male was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that in June of this year the accused assaulted and threatened his girlfriend. Officers requested an arrest warrant for the accused and as a result of the warrant the male was arrested yesterday. He will appear in bail court this morning.
Assault of a Cab Driver
27-year old Clifford Achneepineskum of no fixed address was arrested just after 1 am this morning and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that around 1 am this morning the accused assaulted a cab driver after the driver dropped the accused off at this destination. The accused will appear in court on January 11th.
Assault in the West End
Last evening just after 10:30 pm it is alleged that 50-year-old Kiven Miskimins of upstairs-819 Peoples Road assaulted a male known to the accused. The incident occurred in the City’s west end. The accused and victim are known to each other. The accused will appear in court on January 11th.
City Police received two reports of break and enters in the last 24-hour period:
1) A garage on McAllen Street was entered yesterday afternoon between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It does not appear that anything was taken.
2) Between 8 p.m. on the 11th of December and 3:30 p.m. on the 12th of December a home on Broadview Drive was entered. A gun cabinet with three firearms was taken as well as two 30-inch televisions. The firearms are a 30-30 Winchester rifle, a .22 calibre marlin lever action and a 30.06 Remington bolt action.
