A 20-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after police responded to a domestic dispute last evening at an east end residence. The male and his girlfriend got into a verbal argument and police were called. The male was on release documents with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the female as well as to not consume alcohol. Alcohol was a factor in this matter. The male has been charged with 2 counts of breach of release documents.

Male Charged With Assualt

A 33-year old male will also appear in bail court today after being arrested yesterday afternoon. Police responded to a residence in the City’s central area yesterday for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that a 33-year old male grabbed his wife by the neck and pushed her down while bending her fingers back on her hand. The male also told the victim he would kill her. Further investigation revealed the accused had kicked the victim in the leg last week that left a still visible bruise. The accused was arrested at the scene and has been charged with 2 counts of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.

Male Enters Bar With Handgun

Shortly before 1 am this morning City Police officers attended at Studio 10 after receiving reports of a male being in the bar with a handgun on him. Officers attended and arrested 51-year-old Douglas Coull of 418 Albert Street West. Officers located a handgun in the waistband of the accused pants and well as ammunition in his pocket. Officers also learned that the .22 caliber handgun had been reported stolen from a break and enter in September of this year. The accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the offence. The accused has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for purpose dangerous to the public, one count of weapon concealed, one count of possession of restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunitions, one count of possession of weapon obtained by crime and one count of possession contrary to order as he was on an order not to possess any firearms or ammunition. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

Break and Enter

Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested 23-year old Shaun Mearow of 2102 Mission Road, Goulais River on outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on the 18th of November the accused broke into a residence in the 700 block of Pine Street and stole over $10,000 in property including a large screen television and jewellery. A warrant had been requested at the time of the investigation. Mr. Mearow has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. The accused will appear in court on January 10, 2005.


Two Males and Numerous Charges

Last evening officers from the Investigation Services Section recovered some stolen property after executing a search warrant at 316-26 Terry Fox Place. Officers recovered a $7,000 ring, a dvd player, a sony flat screen tv and some CD’s that had been reported stolen from a vehicle on the 17th of November. Police also located a Dell computer system that had been stolen from a break and enter to Pinewood School back in early October. Police also found a small quantity of marihuana. Police have charged two males from that residence with a number of offences. 23-year old Allan Burns has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of theft over $5,000, and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. 19-year old James Brandt has been charged with 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. Both males will appear in court on January 10, 2005.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Yesterday afternoon just before 3 pm an off duty police officer came across a single motor vehicle collision that occurred at Allens Side Road and Ransome Drive. It is alleged that a pickup truck being operated by 49-year-old Marilyn Raven aka Keeping of 62 Arden Street was traveling southbound on Allen Side Road when she failed to negotiate the turn onto Ransome Drive and went into a ditch striking a PUC pole. When the officer went to check on the wellbeing of the driver and her passenger the officer noted the driver was showing obvious signs of intoxication. The officer arrested the driver for impaired driving and turned her over to uniform officers who attended to take to report. Her passenger, 46-year old James Kincaid of 111 Ransome Drive, was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. She will appear in court on January 17th
