City Police Detectives arrested a 32 year old male earlier today and charged him with 2 counts of assault. It is alleged the male assaulted a young child known to him on 2 separate occasions. He will be appearing in Provincial Court on September 14.

Sometime between July 24 and August 4 a residence on Summit Avenue was broken into. At this time it appears a tea service set was the only thing taken.

Between July 31 and August 1 a shed on River Road was broken into. A barbeque, an extension ladder, wheelbarrows, boat motors, an inflatable boat, tools and a yellow generator were taken.

Yesterday morning a resident on Bellevue Avenue reported their vehicle was entered. A black pencil case containing money was taken.

On August 4, 2015 at 2:20 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 17-year-old young person with two counts of break and enter, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, theft of motor a vehicle and attempted theft of a motor vehicle, mischief under $ 5,000, arson and four counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that from July 31 until August 4, 2015 the youth stole three trucks and attempted to steal a van. One of the stolen vehicles when abandoned was set on fire. The other two vehicles received minor damage. During the thefts the youth damaged two locked gates. At the time of the offences the youth was on a probation order that was breached. The young person will appear in court on August 5.

On August 4, 2015 shortly after 8 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 34-year-old male with theft under $5,000. It is alleged that he stole merchandise from Sears. The accused will attend court on August 5.

On August 4, 2015 at 10:30 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 29-year-old male with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that he broke into a home in the central part of the city and stole some jewelry. He subsequently attempted to pawn the stolen items. He will appear in court on August 5.

On August 5, 2015 at 1:30 a.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 32-year-old male for domestic mischief. The male was wanted on an arrest warrant. It’s alleged that he broke a window at his girlfriend’s residence. He will appear in court on August 5.
