Michael Stephen Debello age 21 of 377 John Street turned himself in to police on Tuesday afternoon because of an outstanding arrest warrant. Mr. Debello was wanted for failing to attend court in March 10th of this year on an assault charge from November of last year.


DOMESTIC DISPUTE
A 41-year-old man will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested by patrol officers at 4:55 yesterday afternoon. The man had been involved in a domestic dispute on the 2nd of April and was charged with mischief and breach of undertaking as a result of that incident. After being released on those charges he is alleged to have called the victim and threatened to kill her. Additional charges of threatening death and breach of an undertaking were laid.


YOUNG OFFENDERS
A young offender will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged with assault and breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused pushed a family member to the floor of their residence causing very minor injury to the victim. The victim did not require medical treatment for the injury.

A young offender will appear in court on May 11th having been charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. The young person was found to be in possession of what is believed to be hash oil (amount not known) at the residence where they reside. The young offender was also on probation to be of good behavior.


CHARGED WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES
A 24 year-old local man has been arrested and charged with 3 sex-related offences. The offences of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual assault are alleged to have taken place in March of this year and involved a young person. The man is scheduled to appear in court on May 10th.


CHARGED WITH SHOPLIFTING
Wayne Curtis Ackland, age 47 of 40 Hynes Street was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 at Sears in the Station Mall on Tuesday afternoon. Ackland is alleged to have taken a $30 watch from the shelf and placed it in his jacket pocket prior to leaving the store. He was apprehended by store security after exiting the store. Mr. Ackland is scheduled to appear in court on May 10th.


DAMAGED GALAXY THEATRE
20-year-old Jamie George MacPhee of no fixed address was arrested and charged at 11:30 last evening in connection with damage done at the Galaxy Theater. MacPhee is alleged to have caused approximately $1500 damage to the washroom at the theater by jumping on the counter and sink. MacPhee has been charged with mischief under $5000 and will appear in bail court this morning.


TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
A motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Peoples Road and Second Line saw one driver charged. Rita Oakley of 555 Albert Street West was driving south on Peoples Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Second Line. In making the turn Ms. Oakley struck the northbound vehicle being driven by Kelly Sutton of 203 Rossmore Road. Ms. Oakley was charged with failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision. No injuries were reported. The Oakley vehicle received a moderate amount of damage and the Sutton vehicle received a light amount of damage.

A 2-vehicle collision on McNabb Street at 3:50 yesterday afternoon left both vehicles with severe damage and sent one person to the hospital with injuries. Both vehicles were traveling east on McNabb Street approaching the Pine Street intersection. 74-year-old Navinchandra Shah was driving in the inside lane and 50-year-old Ursula Urscheler was driving in the curb lane. It is reported that Shah attempted to change into the curb lane striking the other vehicle. As a result Ms. Urscheler went to hospital by ambulance with minimal injuries. Mr. Shah was charged with change lane not in safety.
