Fraud

Yesterday afternoon around 4 pm officers attended at the Cambrian Mall regarding a male attempting a short change scam. The male attended at 3 stores in the mall, used a $100 bill to purchase a small ticket item, then took the $100 back and started to pay with smaller bills, confusing the staff, and then demanding change for the $100 bill he had originally produced. The male is described as being approximately 50 years old, possibly of East Asian or Arabic descent, 5’8” tall, medium build, dark complexion, lots of facial hair, black hair of medium length which is combed to the side and very wavy. The male was wearing dark clothing. The male was successful in obtaining a small-undisclosed amount of money from the Hollywood Beauty Salon. This appears to be a different male than the matter reported approximately 2 weeks ago with the $50 bill. If you are a victim of this male, please contact the City Police at 949-6300.
