An 18 year old male is in custody charged with 2 counts of assault and breach of probation resulting from an incident downtown at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

An 18 year old male is in custody charged with 2 counts of assault and breach of probation resulting from an incident downtown at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.  On the 2Apr13 at 2:15, police attended in the area of the Essar Center for a male and female fighting.  Witnesses in the area observed a male throw a female on the ground and called police.  Upon arrival officers spoke with two witnesses and the victim.  Investigation determined that the young male had approached his ex-girlfriend (the victim) inside the Station Mall.  A verbal altercation began, which later continued outside of the mall.  The accused grabbed the female and threw her to the ground causing her to land on her back.  The victim was able to leave the area walking towards the Essar Center.  The accused followed the female and again threw her to the ground several times.  The female was able to break free and the male fled from the area due to the presence of the witnesses who began to intervene.  After a short pursuit by police the accused was located and arrested at 14:35 hours in the downtown area.  The accused was also bound by a valid probation order stemming from other recent convictions with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior and was charged with violating that probation order.  The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

29 year old Julie Kelly of 103 Asquith St. will appear in bail court charged with 3 counts of theft.  Detectives from Investigation Services charged Kelly at 5 p.m. Tuesday after a lengthy investigation which identified her as a suspect in three computer thefts from businesses in January and February of this year.  It is alleged that on the 10Jan13 the accused Julie Kelly entered the Mini PC store at 296 Korah Road and while inside she stole a Macbook laptop with a value of $500.00.   Further, on the 15Jan13 the accused Julie Kelly entered the Future Shop store located at 548 Great Northern Road and while inside stole a Macbook Air computer with a value of $1199. Further, on the 27Feb13 the accused entered the Future Shop located at 548 Great Northern Road and while inside stole 2 Kobo e-readers valued at $249.00 each.  Kelly will appear in bail court today.

A break and enter was reported to a vacant apartment in the 100 block of Wellington St. E. A group of “squatters” were removed from the apartment.

A break and enter was reported on Boehmer Blvd. sometime between 2:30 pm.  and 6:00 p.m. Thieves broke in through a carport door and stole jewelry, watches and an army service medal.

A break and enter was reported in the 200 block of Rossmore Rd between 2:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. A side door was kicked in and medication and old 10 and 20 dollar bills taken.
