Victim suffers serious injuries in stabbing incident

Accused was found in possession of suspected fentanyl at the time of his arrest

Sault Ste. Marie have arrested someone after an incident that occurred last Friday. 

In a release issued today, The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says officers responded to a call on Feb. 26 after the accused was involved in a confrontation with someone he knew. The accused allegedly stabbed the victim and then fled the area.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

The accused was located on March 2, where police found him to be in possession of a small quantity of suspected fentanyl.

As a result, Paul Quesnel, 29 was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

He was held for bail court.
