One person was arrested after it is alleged that a man broke into the victims home on Feb. 13 and "began to sexually assault them while they were asleep," says a news release issued by Sault Police.
"The victim and accused are familiar to one another but have had minimal contact prior to this incident."
Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a report regarding the incident on Tuesday afternoon and arrested 91-year-old James St. Germain as a result.
St. Germain is scheduled to appear in court on April 14 and stands charged with:
• Break and enter - commit indictable offence
• Sexual assault
None of the allegations have been tested in court and St. Germain is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
