A 35-year-old man is behind bars after a serious assault in Steelton that sent a person to the hospital.
At around 3:30 Thursday morning, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Brown Street, where they located and arrested a suspect.
The victim was “transported to hospital with serious injuries,” says a news release from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
Joshua Bergeron is charged with assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with a probation order.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. None of the allegations have been tested in court and Bergeron is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
