Sault Police executed a search warrant on Peoples Road over the weekend and arrested two suspects for firearms offences.
On Saturday, detectives with the drug enforcement and crime suppression units, with assistance from the emergency services unit, raided a residence in the 1400 block of Peoples Road.
Police say two people were found inside with a rifle and ammunition: 41-year-old Krista Merola and 44-year-old David Richards.
Both are charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and careless storage of ammunition.
Both suspects were released on undertakings and are scheduled back in court on Jan. 29, 2024.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and both are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
