Two disturbances calls yesterday morning resulted in one arrest after a person was found in a vehicle that was reported stolen in York Region.

A 911 call at approximately 9 a.m. Monday morning reported that "a person was yelling and smashing a vehicle" in a Trunk Road parking lot. The individual had left the area in the vehicle prior to police arrival, Sault Police said in a news release.

A short time later, officers responded to a second disturbance in the 1200 Block of Wellington Street East.

"Officers were dispatched to the area and located the person inside the vehicle described in the first incident," the release says. "The person initially provided two false names to police before being identified as the accused. Investigation also revealed the vehicle driven by the accused was reported stolen to York Regional Police Service."

As a result of this investigation, 41-year-old Achilles Creighton was arrested and charged with:

    •    Possession of property obtained by crime
    •    Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution, or obstruct justice (identity fraud)

Creighton was held in custody pending a bail hearing. None of the allegations have been tested in court and Creighton is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
