Three Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning:

1) A 47 year-old male was arrested last night at 8:25 pm at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged with two counts of assault. It is alleged that between March and May the accused assaulted his girlfriend at a centrally located residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

2) A 32 year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants yesterday afternoon on Queen Street East and charged with failing to appear court and breach of parole and probation.

3) A 46 year-old male was arrested on the 21st of September at 11:12 pm at a centrally located residence and charged with two counts of breach of recognizance. It is alleged that at approximately 11:03 pm last evening city police received a call regarding a domestic dispute at a centrally located residence and when they arrived they located the accused at the residence of his girlfriend. At the time of the incident the accused was on recognizance conditions, due to previous related domestic incidents with the same female, with conditions that he not communicate with her or to attend at her residence.

Two Persons Arrested after Execution of Search Warrant at Their Residence:

On the 21st of September at approximately 8:28 pm , members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Canine Unit, and Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 814 Wellington Street East-Apartment #4.. During the course of the search, officers located 149 capsules of morphine in different dosages, 228 grams of cannabis marihuana, as well as other medications, various drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials. Further, officers located $100.00 in Canadian Currency which was seized as offence related property. As a result, 50 year-old Grant Mullan and 27 year-old Lynn Kwissiwa of 814 Wellington Street East Apt. #4 were each charged with 3 counts of possessing a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count each of breach of probation. It was further determined that Mullan trafficked 2 of the morphine tablets to Kwissiwa and was charged with one count of trafficking a controlled drug or substance. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $7100. They are to appear in court on the 26th of October.

Female Charged with Assault:

22 yer-old Jessica Whalen of 373 Albert Street West was arrested on the 21st of September at 5:58 pm at her residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 21st of September around 3:30 pm the accused was at the city bus terminal when she assaulted a female known to her. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical attention. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of October.

Property Crimes:

Theft Reports:

• A generator was reported stolen from Community Living Algoma on Sussex Road.
• Two bikes, 2 outdoor motors and a chainsaw was reported stolen from the property of a residence on Chippewa Street.
• Gas cans were reported stolen from Brown Street.

Mischief Reports:

A glass patio table was smashed by a golf ball in the 900 block of North Street.
