Eight persons to appear in bail court On Saturday May 22nd at approx. 2:20 am city police arrested a 46-year-old male on charges of assault and assault with a weapon.
Eight persons to appear in bail court

On Saturday May 22nd at approx. 2:20 am city police arrested a 46-year-old male on charges of assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted his common-law girlfriend by striking her on the head with the handle of a hammer and also by grabbing her by the hair. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted a second female by grabbing her and punching her several times. Both victims suffered minor injuries and did not require medical assistance.

On Saturday May 22nd at approx. 11:00 pm city police arrested a 32-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by grabbing her and threatening her with a knife. It is further alleged that during the month of April the accused assaulted his common-law-girlfriend by pushing her down a flight of stairs. The victim did not require medical attention.

At approx. 2:00 pm on May 22nd city police arrested a 34-year-old male and charged him with one count of threatening, one count of mischief and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused threatened to use a gun to kill his girlfriend. It is further alleged that the accused committed the offence of mischief by breaking a window at the victim’s residence. At the time of these offences the accused was on probation.

At approx. 2:15 am on May 24th city police arrested a 17-year-old male on a count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the accused was in possession of a 1993 Plymouth van that had been reported stolen.

On May 24th at approx. 10:30 am city police attended at an east end residence and arrested a 27-year-old male on charges of theft under $ 5,000, robbery and breach of probation. It is alleged that on May 24th Corey Peplow, age 27 of 254 Wallace Terr. assaulted a female, known to him and stole a quantity of prescription pills from her. It is further alleged that on May 23rd the accused attended at a residence in the 100 block of Manitou Dr. and stole a bicycle. At the time of these offences the accused was on probation. The victim of the assault did not require medical attention.

On May 24th at approx. 10:30 pm city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested three males for assault. It is alleged that the three accused did assault another inmate by punching and kicking the victim several times. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault. The accused are:

1. Andrew Petts, age 19, of no fixed address. He is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.

2. Trevor Seaton, age 24, of no fixed address. He is charged with one count of assault.

3. Eric Mearow, age 25, of no fixed address. He is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.


Male arrested for break and enter

At approx. 10:40 pm on May 23rd city police arrested a 25-year-old male and charged him with one count of break and enter and one count of theft. It is alleged that Anthony Link, age 25, of 257 McNabb St. broke into a residence in the 100 block of Kent Ave and stole a quantity of liquor. The police located the accused a short distance from the break and enter. Mr. Link will be appearing in court on June 28th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter

Break and enters were reported in the following locations:
A garage in the 100 block of Grandhaven Cr. – unknown what was taken. A garage in the 100 block of Foothill Rd.- unknown what was taken. The 100 block of Cambridge Pl – unknown what was taken. The 100 block of St. Basil’s Dr. – a welder and a motor bike were stolen. The 600 block of Shafer Ave- electronics were stolen. An attempt break-in was reported in the 300 block of Henry St.

Mischief

Vehicles were damaged in the 400 block of Borden Ave, the 100 block of Foothill rd and the 300 block of Spadina Ave.
A house was egged in the 100 block of Bitonti Cres.

Theft

Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
The 300 block of Pine St, the 100 block of Adeline Ave , the 100 block of Wiber St., the 100 block of Foothill Rd, the 200 block of Birchwood St., the 100 block of Balfour St. and then 100 block of Penno Rd.
Stolen were cash, personal papers and electronics.
Construction equipment and materials were stolen from a site in the 100 block of Gore St.
