DOMESTIC VIOLENCE A domestic violence incident on Sunday afternoon resulted in a 34 year-old male being arrested and charged with threatening death.

A domestic violence incident on Sunday afternoon resulted in a 34 year-old male being arrested and charged with threatening death. The man, who will appear in bail court this morning, is alleged to have returned to the family residence at approximately 2:30 pm and began a verbal confrontation with the victim. During the verbal exchange the accused threatened to kill the victim. The incident occurred in their west end residence. No injuries were reported.

TIPSY YOUNG OFFENDER

A young offender will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested outside of a residence on Old Garden River Road. The youth is alleged to have been yelling in the parking lot of the residence and was also found by officers to be intoxicated at the time of arrest. The youth attempted to pull away from the arresting officers when placed under arrest. The accused also continued to swear at the arresting officers while they were executing the arrest. The youth will appear in court charged with causing a disturbance, resist arrest and 2 counts of breach of probation.

CABBIE JUST WANTED HIS FARE

28 year-old Christopher Bruni of 214 Reid Street was arrested and charged early Monday morning as a result of a call by Checker cab about 2 men refusing to pay their fare. Bruni is alleged to have been on a recognizance with conditions not to consume alcohol, abide by a curfew of 12 midnight to 6 am and to keep the peace and be of good behavior. Bruni was arrested and charged with 3 counts of breaching his recognizance and will appear in bail court this morning. The cab fare is reported to have eventually been paid.

IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

Daniel St. John, age 28 of 1151 Allen’s Side Road was arrested and charged at 4:50 yesterday morning with impaired driving and refusing to supply a sample of his breath. The accused is alleged to have left the Trading Post on Great Northern Road traveling through the back way and onto Fourth Line where patrol officers who observed signs of impairment stopped him. The accused was taken to the city police station for breath tests where he became confrontational with the officer in charge and tore the officers shirt resulting in a mischief charge. Mr. St. John will appear in court on June 28th.

HELLO?

38 year-old Ronald Masse of 1773 Highway 17 East was charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation while serving his intermittent sentence at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center. At approximately 12:45 yesterday afternoon a corrections officer did a check of Mr. Masse’s cell and located what is believed to be rolling papers covered with cannabis resin. The Corrections officer also seized matches from the cell. City police were called to the corrections facility where the evidence was turned over to them. Masse will appear in bail court this morning.

FINGER PRINTING IS IMPORTANT

21 year-old Jason Haynes of 19 Princeton Drive was charged yesterday at 2:40 pm for failing to appear for finger printing. It is alleged that Haynes was scheduled to appear for prints on the 14th of May, which he failed to do. The accused attended at the city police station yesterday where he was arrested and charged and is now scheduled to appear in court on June 28th.

YOUNGER OFFENDER CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

A young offender was arrested and charged with assault last evening after allegedly grabbing, tripping and pinning a family member to the floor of the family residence. The assault that took place in the central area of town did not result in any injuries to those involved. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on June 29th
