ASSAULT
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Services is investigating an assault that took place on Sunday May 18th at approximately 7:30 pm involving a knife and a baseball bat.
Two males involved in the incident were taken to the General Hospital and admitted with various injuries. They are listed in stable condition. The incident, which took place in the 100 block of Allard Street is still under investigation.

CHARGED WITH DANGEROUS DRIVING
Yesterday at approximately 2:45 am, patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in a dangerous manner in two parking lots on Willow Ave. When the officers went to stop the vehicle, the driver refused and fled from the scene.
He allegedly drove in a reckless manner on Willow Avenue, Malibar Drive and Great Northern Road. At one point during this incident, it is alleged that the vehicle was doing in excess of 100 km/h on Great Northern Road in the vicinity of Cambrian Mall. The driver also disobeyed three stop signs while the police were following the car.
The driver, Clinton Bailey, was arrested when he pulled into his driveway at 25 Blake Street. Bailey, age 25, is charged with two counts of Dangerous Driving. He will be appearing in court on Monday, June 30th at 9:00 am.
HEAVY POLICE TRAFFIC
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to 301 calls over the long weekend. There were 4 break and enters, 20 thefts and 19 mischief reports. There were 31 arrests made, seven of which were for assault and four were for Impaired Driving.
POLICE SEEKING YOUR ASSISTANCE
The Sault Ste Marie Police Services Traffic Unit is requesting the public's assistance in locating any witnesses that may have seen or have any knowledge in regards to a fail to remain accident that took place On May 10th 2003.
The accident took place in the laneway running parallel to Beverly Street between the railway tracks and Cathcart Street. Extensive damage was caused to several vehicles and a garage. A grey Ford Bronco may have been involved. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Traffic Office at 949-6300.
