OUTSTANDING WARRANTS
Marty Mattila, age 31, of 1003 Allen Side Road was arrested yesterday on an outstanding warrant for Failing to Appear in Court. It is alleged that Mr. Mattila failed to attend court on Feb 9th. His new court date will be on April 19th at 9:00 am.
Ross Paul Shaganash, age 52, of Calstock, Ontario was arrested at 2:30 pm yesterday for failing to appear for fingerprints. Mr. Shaganash was to have been at the City Police Station for fingerprinting on Feb. 20th but failed to do so. He will be appearing in court on April 19th at 9:00 am.
ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
At approx. 9:40 pm yesterday, City Police went to an address in the 600 block of Wellington St.W. and arrested two males. The accused are alleged to have gone to the victim’s address and threatened to damage their car.
When confront by the victim one of the accused persons grabbed and pushed her. As a result of these actions a 15-year-old male was charged with Assault and Threatening. He will be appearing in court on April 13th at 9:30 am.
The co-accused, David Hache, age 18, of 640 Wellington St.W., resisted the police officers at the time of his arrest. As a result he was charged with Threatening and Resist Police. He will be attending in court on April 19th at 9:00 am.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT
At approximately 3:25 pm yesterday afternoon, City Police were called to the intersection of Second Line E. and North St. in regards to a three-car motor vehicle collision with minor injuries.
A 17-year-old male was driving his car east on Second Line E. approaching an amber light at North St. at the same time a truck being driven by Edmund Moreau, age 37, was turning left from westbound Second Line to southbound North St.
The eastbound car was struck by the truck and then struck the third vehicle, which had been stopped at northbound North St.
The 17-year-old male and Mr. Moreau both suffered minor injuries in the accident. The driver of the third vehicle, Caterina Rosso of North St., was not injured.
Mr. Moreau was charged, under The Highway Traffic Act, with Left Turn Fail to Afford Reasonable Opportunity to Avoid a Collision and the 17-year-old male was charged with Disobey Amber light- Fail to Stop.
BREAK AND ENTERS
In other news, the City Police Service is investigating a break and enter to the Subway Store located in the Churchill Plaza. Thieves broke a front store window to gain access.
The break and enter took place late Sunday night to early Monday morning. If you saw any suspicious vehicles or persons loitering around the Churchill Plaza, you are asked to contact the City Police Criminal Investigation Unit or Crimestoppers.
