Motorists Cautioned
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind motorists to use caution and pay extra attention to motorists and pedestrians in the area of Willow Avenue and Northern Avenue.
Sault College is in a legal strike action and traffic flow into Sault College may be disrupted. There will also be extra pedestrians in the area.
Theft At Station Mall
23-year old Tasha Kidd of 41 Autumn Drive was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with 4 counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The accused was apprehended by Station Mall Security and found to have unpaid for merchandise from Claire’s, Ardene’s, San Francisco and La Senza. The value of the items was under $100. The accused will appear in court on April 24th.
Noise Complaints Lead To Mischeif Charge
39-year old Robert Nadeau of 3-517 Albert Street East was arrested last evening around 5:30 pm and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that yesterday officers attended at his address in relation to a noise complaint regarding loud music and yelling. Officers had already warned the accused on the 5th regarding the noise. When officers attended yesterday they charged the accused under the City By-law 4100 section 1(4) for excessive noise. Officers exited the apartment but did not get far when the noise started up again. Mr. Nadeau was subsequently charged with mischief and will appear in court on April 10th.
Outstanding Warrant Arrest
37-year old Lisa McNaught of 383 John Street was arrested last evening on outstanding warrants for one count of fail to attend court. She will appear in court on April 10th.
Garden River Man Turns Himself In
29-year old Derek Roach of 187 Point Charles Road, Garden River, turned himself into City Police last evening. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on March 6th and also failed to appear for fingerprints on February 21st. He has been charged with one count of fail to appear in court and one count of fail to appear for fingerprints. He will appear in court on April 10th.
The Joint Forces Drug Unit Catches Yet Another One
Last evening 18-year old Jennifer Lipinski of 505 Cathcart Street was arrested by members of the Joint Forces Drug Unit in relation to a warrant that was executed on March 1st. Jennifer Lipinski has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. She will appear in court on April 10th.
Break And Enter
Yesterday between 4:30 pm and 7:45 pm a home in the 100 block of Dennis Street was entered and several video games were taken.
