BOY ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
On February 18 at around 4:00 pm, the complainant an eleven-year-old boy was assaulted by the accused, a twelve-year-old boy.
The twelve-year-old chased after the eleven-year-old as he was walking home and when he caught the victim he assaulted him by tripping him and then kicking him in the stomach.
This assault occurred in the downtown area. Detectives yesterday arrested and charged the accused with Assault. The accused will appear in youth court in early April.
ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO ATTEND COURT
On June 28, the accused, Nancy Dumanski, was removed from a restaurant on Wellington Street West because of her behaviour. Dumanski was then observed walking east on Wellington Street West where she began to kick down roadwork barricades.
Dumanski was arrested by police for mischief and taken to the station. She was to appear in court in mid July 2002 but failed to attend. Warrants were issued for her arrest. Yesterday at 2:55 pm, patrol officers executed the warrants and arrested and charged Nancy Dumanski, age 45 of 138 East Street with Mischief, Breach of Probation and Failing to Attend in Court. She will appear in bail court today.
MAN ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO APPEAR IN COURT
On Feb 4 at approximately 5:30 pm, Michael Parent, age 20, was arrested at the Zellers Store, Station Mall, by store security for theft of miscellaneous items valued at $27.84. The arrest was continued by police officers. A police records check revealed Parent to be on a probation order.
He was released from custody with the condition to appear in court. On Monday April 15, 2002, Parent, was arrested by police officers on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court on the charges of theft and breach of probation. The accused was again released on the condition that he attend court.
Yesterday, police officers were called to a business on Queen Street East in response to information that the accused, Michael Parent, of 153 Alexandra St. was present. The accused identified himself to police and he was arrested under the authority of a bench and first instance arrest warrant.
He will appear in bail court today to answer to the charges of Theft under $ 5,000.00, Breach of Probation and three counts of Failing to Attend Court.
VICIOUS ASSAULT ON PARENTS
Yesterday at approximately 4:45 pm, the accused, a 17-year-old male assaulted his mother and a female in her mid forties, by pushing her to the ground, elbowing her in the neck and spitting on her.
The accused then assaulted his father, a male in his early fifties, by punching him several times in the head, jumping on him, and kneeing him. The father received several small cuts to his head.
Patrol officers were called to the west end residence where the assaults occurred and at 5:10 pm arrested and charged the youth with two counts of Assault. The youth is scheduled for bail court today.
ANOTHER FAILED TO APPEAR IN COURT
On November 22, 1999 at approximately 4:30 pm, the accused Christine Miller took a bottle of "Exclamation" cologne valued at $24.49 from Zellers Canada at the Station Mall without paying for it. It was concealed in the pocket of her coat. She was arrested outside by store security. Police officers continued the arrest and charged her with Theft.
She was released from custody with the agreement she would return to the police station for fingerprinting and would appear at court. Miller failed to appear for either process. Early this morning at 12:35, patrol officers checked the accused identified as Christine Miller, age 27 of 468 Frontenac St.
A police records check revealed the accused was wanted on the outstanding warrants. She was arrested and transported to the station. She will appear in bail court today on the charges of Theft, Failing to Attend for Fingerprints and Failing to Attend at Court.
BIG BROTHERS LOOTED
Patrol officers were called to the Big Brothers Office at 504 Queen Street East yesterday morning shortly after 8:00 o'clock. When they arrived, they learned that sometime between 9:30 pm on Friday, Feb. 28th and 8:00 am on Monday, March 3rd thieves had broken into the office.
Officers determined that thieves had used a vent pipe located between the Big Brothers Office building and the adjacent building to shimmy down and then gain access to a second floor bathroom window.
Access was gained by breaking the window. Once inside the building, thieves ransacked an office and removed several internal parts from a computer's hard drive.
Before leaving they stole a small quantity of cash. Officers believe the thieves exited the building through the broken bathroom window. The investigation is continuing.
