60-Yr Old Man Charged With Assault A 60-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested by officers from Investigation Services last evening. It is alleged that the male assaulted his wife while in their west end residence.

A 60-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested by officers from Investigation Services last evening. It is alleged that the male assaulted his wife while in their west end residence. The assault occurred on March 24th. It is alleged that the accused hit the victim on the face and put his hands around her neck. The victim did not require medical treatment at the time. The male has been charged with one count of assault.

Charge For Theft At Vital Clothing Store

An 18-year old person was arrested yesterday morning by City Police and charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

It is alleged that in February the accused left the Vital Clothing Store located at 364 Queen Street East wearing a sweatshirt that had not been paid for, valued at just under $100. Store personnel followed the accused but were unable to apprehend the suspect.

Yesterday the same store employee called City Police to advise that the suspect was walking along Queen Street wearing the stolen sweatshirt. Officers located the accused at the courthouse at which time he was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

At the time of the offences the accused was on probation with terms to keep the peace and be good. The accused will appear in court on April 24th. Due to the YCJA charge, the name of the accused cannot be released.

Theft At Sears

Last evening 39-year old Darrell Ojeebah of 680 Bay Street was charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Sears Store and attempted to leave the store with unpaid merchandise including clothing, an answering machine and a belt. The value of the property was just under $250. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. He will appear in court on May 1st.

12-Yr Old Charged For Assaulting Mother

A 12-year old youth was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of assault, two counts of threatening to cause bodily harm and one count of threatening to damage property. It is alleged that on the 27th of March the youth assaulted their mother and also threatened to burn down the family home as well as the family vehicle. It is further alleged that the accused advised another young person that if the police were to show up the youth would take the second youth hostage and that the accused had a knife and would harm the second youth. The accused will appear in court on May 2nd.
