BREACH OF PROBATION Yesterday, the accused, a 16-year-old male, was checked by patrol officers on Albert Street East at 1:14 am.
BREACH OF PROBATION
Yesterday, the accused, a 16-year-old male, was checked by patrol officers on Albert Street East at 1:14 am. A police records check revealed he was on a probation order with a curfew of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am on weekends and 10:00 pm to 7:00 am on weekdays. As a result, the accused was arrested by police for breach of probation. He will appear at the end of this month in court to answer to this charge.


MAN THREATENS WOMAN & HER CHILDREN
On February 25th, at approximately 3:30 pm, a 21-year-old St Joseph's Island resident had contacted his 22-year-old, ex-girlfriend by telephone. During this conversation, the accused threatened to kill the female and her 3-year-old son, with a bow and arrow, and would leave with their infant daughter.

At approximately 3:45 pm the accused, with a mutual friend, went to the residence of the victim in the north end of the city and at this time he remained in the passenger seat of the vehicle, but raised the middle finger to the victim.

Police were contacted and an investigation was commenced. Yesterday at 10:50 am police officers arrested and charged the male with two counts of Threatening Bodily Harm or Death and two counts of Breach of Probation. He will appear in bail court today.


ACCUSED SHOPLIFTER
Yesterday at about 5:30 p.m., the accused, William Dolan-Zack, age 21 of 210 Cathcart Street, left Zeller's, 306 Northern Avenue East through the main doors, pushing a shopping cart containing items for which he had allegedly not paid, valued at over $600.00.

Items recovered included a Dirt Devil upright vacuum, Electrohome DVD/VCR combo (VHS) and 2 pairs of Wrangler jeans. He was apprehended by a store employee who returned him to the office and turned him over to police at 6:05 p.m. The officers charged the accused with Theft under $5,000.00. The accused will appear in court April 28th.


ADDITIONAL CHARGES LAID
RELEASED ON MARCH 21ST "On March 21 at approximately 1:00 am Eric Mousseau, age 20 of 366 Korah Road, had used the services of a taxi to transport himself from Jemmette Street to Goulais Avenue. Mousseau did not pay for the service.

He then went to a west end apartment and where he forced his way into the residence of an adult female who was known to him. Once inside, Mousseau caused mischief and theft by breaking beer bottles and damaging property. Mousseau also took 5 bottles of Northern Superior Beer, valued at $9.00.

While there unlawfully, Mousseau threatened death towards the female victim and assaulted her by directing a utility knife towards her and forcing her lower chest into a door.

Police officers were called to the apartment and arrested and charged Mousseau with Fare Fraud, Forcible Entry, Theft under $5,000.00, Assault with a Weapon, Unlawfully in a Dwelling House, Uttering Death Threats and Mischief."

Further investigation by detectives revealed that at the same time as the above incident, the accused Eric Mousseau, threatened to kill a 21-year-old male who was present. Mousseau threatened to stab him with a knife and burn his house down.

Detectives charged Mousseau with an additional count of Threatening to Cause Death or Bodily Harm. He is scheduled to appear in bail court today on these matters.


YOUTH ARRESTED
Yesterday at 11:15 pm, police officers were called to an apartment on Portage Lane. Once there, officers spoke to several young persons. One of the youths, a 15-year-old male from Portage Lane was on a court imposed released condition not to be with another young male who was at the apartment.

A police records check confirmed that the 15-year-old was breaching his probation by not following the condition not to communicate or associate with the other male. As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with Breach of Probation. He will appear in court April 29th.


BREAK & ENTER
On Saturday evening at approximately 10:40 pm, thieves attempted to break into the Ecstasy Shop at 268 Bruce Street. Thieves attempted to force a door open but were unsuccessfully in gaining entrance to the building. Police were notified of this attempted break in yesterday at noon.

Officers are continuing the investigation into this matter and anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.


SNOWMOBILE STOLEN
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received another complaint of a stolen snow machine yesterday. Sometime between the March 15 and the March 24, thieves stole an Arctic Cat snow machine that was parked at the rear of a garage in the 100 block of Salisbury Avenue. The snow machine, a black 1997 Artic Cat Zr580 was not locked but no key was in the machine.

The owner had advised police that he had left it there and when he returned on March 24 at 6:00 p.m., the snow machine was gone. Officers are continuing the investigation into this matter and anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.


ICE WARNING
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service wishes to remind and caution all snow machine users and out door enthusiasts that ice conditions are rapidly deteriorating on our area lakes and waterways.

With the continuing of spring like weather, ice conditions will become increasing dangerous. Extreme caution should be used when you are considering going out on it or better yet, stay off it.
