Mac's Robbed

Just shortly before 1 am this morning the Mac’s Mart in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East was robbed. Two males entered the store and one of them brandished a knife at the clerk. The suspects fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money and approximately 20 packages of DuMaurier and Macdonald cigarettes. The clerk was not physically harmed. The suspects, both described as young males, are described as follows:

1) Approximately 5’5” – 5’6”, wearing a greenish jacket with a Nike logo on it, a hoody and grey gloves.

2) Approximately 5’5” – 5’6”, wearing a black winter jacket, a hoody and black gloves.

Male Charged with Assault & Threatening Death

A 34 year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 17th of March the accused assaulted his wife by pushing and slapping her. It is alleged that the accused also threatened the victim’s family members.

Female Charged with Theft Under $5,000

A 17 year old female was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on April 24th. It is alleged that the accused stole a credit card and attempted to use the card at a local business.

Assault Charges

A 50 year old male was arrested and charged yesterday afternoon with one count of assault and will appear in court on April 25th. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife yesterday afternoon by punching her. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Possession of Drugs & Unauthorized Weapon

On the 19th of March a 17 year old male was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon. It is alleged that the youth had one ecstasy tablet, a flick knife and a set of wooden knuckles with nails affixed to them. The youth will appear in court on 24th of April.
