On March 19, 2013 at approximately 9:25am police were in the area of Tancred Street and Wellington Street East and observed a male known to the officer.

On March 19, 2013 at approximately 9:25am police were in the area of Tancred Street and Wellington Street East and observed a male known to the officer.  A check of the individual revealed an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court and a second warrant for theft under $5000 and breach of probation. The accused Dwayne Guy age 46 of 49 Borron Avenue was arrested and will attend court on April 22, 2013 at 9:00am.

On March 19, 2013 at approximately 3:50am police were called to a robbery at the Macs Mart on Boundary Road. A lone male entered the store and demanded money.  The male is described as tall and skinny and at the time was wearing blue jeans, a blue sweater and had a white scarf on his face. The male left on foot.  Police K9 was called to the scene but the male eluded police. This investigation is continuing.

A 37 year old male was arrested by City Police officers yesterday afternoon at 4:50 pm and charged with one count of Domestic assault. It is alleged he punched his common law partner two times in the back of her head while they were arguing at their residence. The male will be appearing in Bail Court this morning.

On March 18th officers from the Street Team arrested 24 year old Cameron McDonald of 293 Wellington Street West # 3 for breaching conditions of his Recognizance and possession of a narcotic. It is alleged that Mr. McDonald was not residing where he was supposed to according to his conditions. When he was arrested he was found to be in possession of marihuana. He will be appearing in Bail Court today as well.

27 year old Kelly Hodgson of 245 Beverley St. was arrested by City Police officers at 11:25 pm at an east end residence for breaching one of her release conditions issued back in June 2012. When dealing with Miss Hodgson last night, officers noted that she in fact had been drinking when she was on conditions not to consume alcohol. She will be appearing in Provincial Court on April 22nd.

On the 18th of March 2013 at approximately 5:25 pm a male entered Mr. Sub on Trunk Rd. armed with a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the till. The male was wearing a grey hoodie with something black pulled over his face. A search of the immediate area by City Police officers and the Canine unit proved unsuccessful. There was no one hurt and the incident is still under investigation.

City Police officers and the Canine unit were called to a residence in the Fauquier Ave. area of town close to 10:00 pm last night due to a home invasion. The homeowner was pushed and struck when he answered his door by a male with a knife. The suspect male was described as being native Canadian, wearing a brown parka, blue jeans and carrying a packsack. He made off with over $400.00 in cash, Fentynal patches and the homeowner’s cell phone. The search of the area turned up negative. The victim did not require medical attention and this investigation is continuing as well.
