Description Of Missing Boy
The boy, Billie Elie also goes by the names of Billie Daigle and William Daigle. He is described as: Male Native Canadian, approx. 5’ tall, 140- 150 lbs, med to heavy build, short black hair. . Last seen wearing a dark blue jacket and dark pants. The youth likes to frequent the Station Mall and the Galaxy Theatre games area. If anyone sees this youth please contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Service.
Roads Re-Opened
The Huron Central Railway advises that they have removed all the train cars obstructing and the roads are once again open.
Train Derailment
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is advising the public to avoid using Pim St. south of MacDonald Ave.
At approx. 9:00 AM this morning a westbound Huron Central train de-railed just west of the intersection of Pim St. and Wellington St.E. No one was injured but several train cars did come off the tracks.
This derailment has resulted in the following intersections being blocked:
Southbound Pim St.
Northbound Church St.
Simpson St. north of Wellington St.E.
Huron Central has advised our service that it will be several hours before these intersections will be re-opened. Motorists are advised to use Pine St. or Bruce St. as alternate routes. Pine St. is open to traffic in both directions even though the train crossing lights are flashing. Pedestrians are advised to avoid the area and not cross the train tracks near these locations.
The public will be advised as soon as these intersections are clear for traffic.
Missing Boy
The City Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating a missing boy. The youth Billie Elie is described as: Male Native Canadian, 10 years old, thin build, approx. 140 cm, 54 kgs. He was last seen in the downtown area. Anyone seeing this youth or knowing where he can be located is asked to call the City Police.
Three Break And Enters
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating three break and enters that occurred in the past 24 hours. The first entry was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Abbott St. At this location culprits forced a rear door to gain entrance. It is not known at this time what was stolen.
At approx. 12:50 AM this morning City Police were called to the Moose Lodge, at 543 Trunk Rd., for an alarm. Upon arrival officers observed a quantity of blood in the area of the broken front window. Officers following the trail of blood were led to the to the area of South Market and Cambridge Pl. where the trail disappeared. It is believed that the culprit suffered a laceration while attempting to gain entry.
At approx. 1:15 AM City Police were dispatched to Enzo’s Variety and Video for an alarm. Upon arrival of the officers they noticed that the front door window was broken and entry had been gained. At this time all that has been reported stolen are cigarettes.

Theft From Vehicles
There were three reports of thefts from vehicles yesterday. Cars were entered in the 600 block of Queen St. E., the 100 block of Dauphin Dr. and the 200 block McNabb St.
Two Domestic Disputes
Yesterday afternoon City Police were called to attend at a downtown address in regards to a domestic dispute. It is alleged that at approx. 5:30 PM the accused, a 23-year-old female, assaulted her boyfriend by cutting him with a piece of broken glass. The accused then assaulted one of the police officers as she was being arrested. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM on charges of Assault with a Weapon, Assault Police and Breach of Probation. The victim in this incident did not require medical attention for his injuries.
At approx. 7:30 PM City Police were called to a west end address in regards to a domestic argument. Upon arrival officers located a 53-year-old male at the residence of his ex-common-law spouse. The accused in this incident was on a release document to remain away from the complainant’s address and also on two Probation orders not to molest or harass the victim. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
