Teen Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm
Yesterday afternoon, at approx. 2:30 pm Sault Ste Marie City Police arrested a 16-year-old male and charged him with assault causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on Feb. 16th the accused assaulted a male, known to him, by punching him in the jaw and thereby breaking the victim’s jaw. A warrant was originally issued for the accused’s arrest. He was arrested yesterday on the warrant and will be appearing in bail court today. The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries.
Man Caught on Several Charges
Early this morning Sault Ste Marie City Police arrested a 46-year-old male for several warrants. Gordon Petts, age 46, of 470 Charles St. was arrested and charged with Fraud, Fraud Accommodations, Theft under $ 5,000., Breach of Probation, Breach of Undertaking, Fail to Appear for Fingerprints and Uttering a Forged document. These incidents are alleged to have occurred between July 29th 2006 and Feb 5th 2007. The accused will be appearing in bail court today.
Mischief Under $5,000 & Breach
Yesterday afternoon a 39-year-old female attended at the Sault Ste Marie City Police station and turned herself in on two warrants. The accused, Nancy Kutt of 108 Allard St. Apt 211 was charged with Mischief under $ 5,000. and Breach of an Undertaking. The incidents are alleged to have occurred between Feb 10th and 28th 2007. The accused will be appearing in court on April 18th at 9:00 Am.
Attempted Break & Enter
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating an attempted break and enter reported at approx. 2:55 Am this morning. The JB Sports Store located at 186 Bruce St had a rock thrown through the front window in an attempted break and enter. No entry was gained and nothing appears to have been taken. Two suspects were last seen fleeing south on Bruce St from the premises. Suspects were described as wearing dark clothing and appeared to be about 5’8” in height.
Two Vehicles Entered
Yesterday Sault Ste Marie Police received two reports of thefts from vehicles. The incidents occurred on Fifth Ave. where a car stereo was stolen and on East Balfour St – items taken have not been listed at this time.
