57 year old David Mitchell Saunders and 23 year old David Ronald Saunders, both of 700 Pine Street Apt 4, Sault Ste. Marie were arrested by members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team.

57 year old David Mitchell Saunders and 23 year old David Ronald Saunders, both of 700 Pine Street Apt 4, Sault Ste. Marie were arrested by members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team.  After a search of the premises it was alleged that Mr. Saunders Sr. was in possession of 3 grams of marihuana, 20 codeine tablets, pepper spray and a knife that opens by centrifugal force, making it a prohibited weapon.  He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking codeine, possession of marihuana, possession of a prohibited weapon (2 counts) and possession of weapons while prohibited from possessing by court order  (2 counts).  Mr. Saunders Jr. was found to be in possession of 2 grams of marihuana and was charged with one count of possessing narcotics.  Both will be appearing in court on July 22.

A 52 year old male was arrested as a result of a domestic violence incident.  It is alleged that while at a sporting event his estranged wife was at the accused grabbed the female by the shirt collar when she tried to walk away and shook her.  He will be appearing in bail court this morning charged with one count of assault.

20 year old Bernard Zachary of 167 Huron Street was arrested and charged with one count of mischief.  It is alleged that on June 10th the accused tore the protective covering off a vacant building, lit a firework, and threw it into the building.  No damage was caused by the firework but the accused was charged for damaging the window covering.  He will be appearing in court on July 22nd.

A snowplow, concrete saw and jack hammer were reported stolen from the compound of a business on Industrial Court.
