Male to attend bail court on impaired driving charge: At approx. 12:10 am this morning city police observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Great Northern Rd. Upon stopping the vehicle officers observed that the driver was impaired.
Male to attend bail court on impaired driving charge:

At approx. 12:10 am this morning city police observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Great Northern Rd. Upon stopping the vehicle officers observed that the driver was impaired. The driver Gordon Cochrane, age 41, of 10 Byron pl. St. Catharines, Ont. was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80mgs.

Male arrested for being unlawfully in a dwelling:

At approx. 1:45 am this morning city police arrested 42-year-old Dwayne Guy, of 222 Albert St. E. and charged
him with one count of being unlawfully in a dwelling house. It is alleged that on July 17th 2009 the accused entered a residence in the 200 block of North St. Mr. Guy will be appearing in court on Aug24th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for mischief:

Yesterday evening at approx 8:00 pm city police arrested Jamie Gilmar, age 26, of 49 Glenwood Ave and charged him with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on Sunday July 19th at approx. 6:45 pm Mr. Gilmar damaged a vehicle on great Northern Rd. Mr. Gilmar will be appearing in court on Aug 24th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for theft under $ 5,000:

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 12:30 pm city police arrested 30-year-old Peter Miller, of 167 John St. and charged him with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Zellers Store in the Station Mall and stole a bicycle valued at approx. $ 240.00. Mr. Miller was apprehended by store security and turned over to city police. Mr. Miller will be appearing in court on Aug24th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for failing to appear for identification:

Yesterday evening Jeffrey Miller-Wright, age 38, of 286 John St. attended at the Sault Ste Marie Police Station and turned himself in on a warrant. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear at the city police station on Thursday July 9th for then purpose of identification. Mr. Miller-Wright will be appearing in court on Aug 24th at 9:00 am.

Property Crimes:

Break and enter:


The Seniors Citizen’s Drop-In Centre, located at 619 Bay St. was entered. It is unknown what was taken.
A residence in the 500 block of Maki Rd was entered – a large screen television was taken.

Mischief:

A bicycle rack located at Ontario Works, 540 Albert S. E. was damaged.
A mailbox was damaged at a residence in the 800 block of Goulais Ave.

Theft:

Three bicycles were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of McQueen Rd.
A bicycle was also stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Queen St. E.
