5-YEAR-OLD HIT BY STOLEN CAR On June 28 at 6:00 p.m., a 5-year-old boy from Turner Avenue was struck while riding his bicycle in the 100 block of Turner Avenue.

On June 28 at 6:00 p.m., a 5-year-old boy from Turner Avenue was struck while riding his bicycle in the 100 block of Turner Avenue. The cyclist was exiting a private driveway turning northbound when a car that was also northbound struck him. The cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The car had been stolen from a residence on Chapple Street and the driver, Michael Boyer, age 19, of 714 Second Line West, did not have a licence. Boyer was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, breach of probation, and driving without a licence. He will appear in court on July 29.

ATTEMPTED PAVING SCAM
Also on June 28, an elderly female who resides near the airport was approached by a male who offered to pave her driveway. The male said he was working in the area and had some extra asphalt. He requested several thousand dollars to do the work. The female refused and advised her family members who could not locate any asphalt work being done in the ar
