Male Causes Disturbance by Swearing
Yesterday evening, at approx. 9:30 PM, City Police were called to the Mac’s Mart Store located at Pine St. and Wellington St.E. regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival officers were informed of a male person yelling and swearing at store patrons. As a result the male was arrested for Causing a Disturbance by swearing. Further investigation of the accused revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Michipicoten. The accused was arrested and taken into custody. Brian Aitchison, age 52, of No Fixed Address will be appearing in court on Monday Aug 22 at 9:00 Am on the Cause a Disturbance charge.
Failure to Appear for Fingerprinting
At approx. 10:30 AM yesterday morning City Police executed a warrant on 34-year-old Michael Joseph Miller, of 329 Alexandra St. It is alleged that Mr. Miller Failed to Appear for Finger Prints and Breached his Probation on two occasions. Mr. Miller will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Breach of an Undertaking
At approx. 6:00 Pm yesterday evening City Police arrested a 41-year-old male on a charge of Breach of an Undertaking. It is alleged that the accused, who was released earlier in the day on an Undertaking, did breached that undertaking by harassing the complainant. The accused will be appearing in Court on Monday Aug 22nd at 9:00 AM.
City Police are investigating five reports of Break and Enter.
1. A residence in the 700 block of Queen St.E. was entered by forcing the rear door. Once inside culprit(s) stole a small amount of cash.
2. The lottery kiosk in the Cambrian Mall was entered and a small number of lottery tickets were stolen.
3. A shed was entered in the 100 block of Tilley Rd. Electrical items were stolen.
4. A door to an apartment in the 300 block of Albert St.W. was forced to gain entry. Stolen were DVD’s, a Sony Play Station and a cell phone.
5. Yesterday afternoon at approx. 5:40 PM City Police were called to an address in the 100 block of Laura St. in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers discovered that the premises was broken into. Neighbours advised the officers that a male person was seen loitering in the area prior to the Break In. Jewellery was reported missing. The suspect of this entry is described as: Male, early 20’s wearing white tear-away pants. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the City Police or Crimestoppers.
Reminder
The public is once again reminded to secure their belongings while at the workplace. Police took two reports of thefts from offices yesterday. A purse was stolen from one location and thieves entered a locker and stole a wallet from another location.
