Suspects face mischief, theft charges and more

The following news releases were issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service:

On July 15, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 55-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident. 

On July 15, the accused engaged in a verbal argument with his girlfriend. The argument escalated and the accused is alleged to have thrown a pot of water striking the wall and causing damage. 

The accused (allegedly) then took $200 from the victim’s purse and left the area. 

The accused was later located by police and arrested. He was charged with one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of theft under $5,000 and three counts of breach of recognizance. 

He was held for bail court.

On July 15, 2017, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old female in relation to a domestic violence investigation. 

It is alleged that on July 14 at about 10 a.m., the accused broke a window on a vehicle belonging to her ex-boyfriend. 

Later, at approximately 6 p.m., (it is alleged) the accused broke into the residence of the victim and caused mischief to a wall.

A warrant was requested for the accused and on July 15, she attended the Police Services Building and was placed in custody. 

She has been charged with two counts of mischief and one count of break and enter. She will appear in court on Aug. 16, 2017.
