ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT Yesterday, January 6th, at 7:20 a.m., Donat Cyr was arrested by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service and charged with assault. It is alleged that he assaulted a female, known to him, by slapping and pushing her.

Yesterday, January 6th, at 7:20 a.m., Donat Cyr was arrested by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service and charged with assault. It is alleged that he assaulted a female, known to him, by slapping and pushing her. Officers arrived and while attempting to arrest him for the assault, he resisted and struggled with the officers.

This resulted in a further charge of Resisting Police. The victim of the assault suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Donat CYR, age 38 of 615 Albert Street West, was sent to Bail Court yesterday at 1:30 PM.


MISCHIEF COMPLAINTS
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service had a relatively quiet 24-hour period responding to 76 calls.

Three of these calls were complaints of mischief. The mischief took place in 100 block of Pleasant Drive, where a shed was entered, the 600 block of Portage Lane where a car window was damaged and the 100 block of Queen Street East where the front window of The Regional Ontario Metis Office was damaged.
