FROM JANUARY 24TH NEWS RELEASE: (Yesterday after school a young male was taking his family pet for a walk near Parkland School when an older male with grey hair began taking pictures of him.
FROM JANUARY 24TH NEWS RELEASE:
(Yesterday after school a young male was taking his family pet for a walk near Parkland School when an older male with grey hair began taking pictures of him. The youth did not know the male and immediately left the area unharmed. Police were contacted and checked the area for the older male but could not locate him.

It is believed that the male was driving a grey or green pick up truck. Anyone with information on this incident or observing suspicious activity in and around schools or school age children is asked to immediately contact the Police Service at 949-6300. This incident is very similar to another picture taking complaint please see the following.)


On the January 25th, at approximately10:00 am, an adult male contacted the police service to say that he was the male taking pictures on Thursday or Friday at an intersection near Parkland School. Further, he drives a green truck. The man, who identified himself to police, was taking pictures of the area in relation to his work. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service wishes to thank him and the public for coming forward with information on this investigation.

MAN ARRESTED ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
Yesterday at 2:30 am, Eddie Hernando, age 31 of 192 Louise Avenue, was on Pinewood School property located at 3924 Queen Street East. Patrol officers attended as a result of the accused Eddie Hernando's vehicle being stuck on the property. A police record check indicated that Hernando was on a probation order with the condition not to be on a school ground. At 9:20 am, detectives arrested and charged Hernando with Breach of Probation and Providing Alcohol to a Minor under the Liquor Licence Act. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 3rd.

A HOST OF CHARGES FOR WOMAN
Yesterday morning, Patricia St. Louis, age 22 of 228 Hudson Street, allegedly stole merchandise from Shoppers Drug Mart of a value of $52.60. In addition, the accused allegedly stole a handbag valued at $19.99 from Bentley's in the Cambrian Mall. Further St. Louis was involved in a minor motor vehicle collision on Second Line West in which she was driving a 92 Ford Taurus that she took without the owner's consent.

A police records check revealed outstanding arrest warrants for her. Patrol officers subsequently arrested and charged her with two counts of Theft under $5,000.00, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property and Taking a Motor Vehicle without Consent.

Upon her arrest Officers found her to be in possession more stolen property including a white sweater with a value of $29.99 and a brown chequered handbag valued at $24.99 from Winners in the Cambrian Mall. Also in her possession was two pair of stolen ankle socks valued at $25.98 from Sports Check. She will appear in court March 3rd.

14-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING HER MOTHER
On the January 11, at approximately 10:00 pm, a 14-year-old female assaulted her mother by punching her in the face with a closed fist. Then yesterday at approximately 1:15 pm, the accused struck her mother on the arm five to six times. Yesterday at 3:15 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged her with two counts of Assault. She is scheduled to appear in Bail Court.

15-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR BREACHING BAIL CONDITIONS
Yesterday at approximately 8:45 pm, police officers were called to a Queen Street West address to locate a 15-year-old female who left that location. The girl was in breach of her bail conditions not to be away from the residence unless at court or school and not abiding by the rules of the house. At 9:12 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged the female with two counts of Fail to Comply with her Undertaking/Recognizance. She will appear in Bail court today.

BREAK AND ENTERS
A homeowner in the 200 block of James St. reports that thieves broke into his house around 8:00 pm on the 26th of January. Officers were notified of the incident yesterday morning and commenced an investigation.

Another homeowner in the 100 block of Pentagon Blvd. reported that, last evening, someone tampered with the locks on his garage and back door. The homeowner advised police that thieves might have been trying to break into both structures. Anyone with information on these occurrences is asked to contact the Sault Ste. TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
Yesterday the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated 16 motor vehicle collisions. Most were of a minor nature and winter conditions played a role in most of the collisions. Motorists are reminded to drive according to road and weather conditions.
