Police Attend To Two Motor Vehicle Collisions

Last evening just after 7 pm City Police, Fire Services and Ambulance Services attended on Pine Street in the 700 block for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. An SUV operated by a 17-year old youth was traveling northbound on Pine Street. An SUV operated by 36-year old Robert Berto of Queen Street East was traveling southbound on Pine Street. The two vehicles collided. Both drivers were taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of injuries. The youth received major injuries and remains in the hospital. Mr. Berto received minor non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released. Damage to both vehicles was severe. Traffic Services attended at the scene as well. The investigation is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Traffic Services at 949-6300 ext 382.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is looking for any witnesses to assist them in their investigation of a motor vehicle collision, which occurred last evening just before 9 pm. City Police attended at the intersection of Church Street and Wellington Street East for a collision involving a transport and a car. A car operated by Theresa Vaillancourt of Kingsmount Boulevard was turned right from Church Street onto Wellington Street East. A transport operated by Delroy Thibault of Whitefish, Ontario was also turning right onto Wellington Street East. The two vehicles struck. The car is described as receiving light damage and the transport did not receive any damage. The investigation is ongoing. Witnesses are asked to contact the investigator at 949-6300 ext 5191.

Man Caught Trying To Smuggle Alcohol Out of LCBO

24-year old Brooke Dunlop of 1-109 Wellington Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at the LCBO Store in the Station Mall, and placed a bottle of liquor in his clothing and attempted to leave the store without paying. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over the City Police. The accused will appear in court on March 27th.

14-Year Old Charged With Assault

A 14-year old youth was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 16th of February the youth assaulted another youth in the City’s central area, by pushing the victim. The accused turned themselves into City Police and will appear in court on March 28th.

Break And Enter At Design Solutions

Yesterday morning City Police attended at Design Solutions located at 473 Queen Street East Suite 203 for an attempt theft and a break and enter. On the 18th of February the owner noticed a male in the hallway of the office area and when questioned by the owner the male advised he was looking for another business in the building. The male left the area. The owner than noted that a light was on in an office that had not been on earlier. The owner checked and found that some electronic equipment had been moved. It is believed that the male was in the process of attempted to steal the property when the owner appeared in the hallway. The suspect is described as being 5’9” tall, Caucasian with a darker complexion, approximately 35 year sold, slim to medium build, shaved head, short dark hair, a gold hoop earring in his left ear and was wearing a black knee length leather jacket. Youth's Attempt Break And Enter On Bristol

Yesterday morning two youths attempted to break into a home in the 100 block of Bristol Place but entry was not gained. There is no description of the youths available at this time.

Yet Another Break And Enter

Yesterday between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm thieves broke into a home in the 100 block of Caledon Street and stole a stereo, a surround system and a video camera.
