Impaired Driving 1) On the 13 February 2009 at 9:28 pm a 17 year old male was arrested after the motor vehicle he was operating collided with a another motor vehicle on Great Northern Road.
Impaired Driving

1) On the 13 February 2009 at 9:28 pm a 17 year old male was arrested after the motor vehicle he was operating collided with a another motor vehicle on Great Northern Road. The vehicles received minor damage and no injuries were reported. The 17 year old was charged with consume over the limit and will Appear in court in March.

2) On the 14 February 2009 at approx. 2:18 am city police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Asquith St. and Dryden Ave. As a result of the investigation 31 year old John Lariviere of Albert St. west has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and consume over the legal limit.
He will appear in court on the 23 March 2009 at 9:00 am. Both Vehicles were demolished.

3) On the 14 February 2009 at approx 6:00 am officers were dispatched to a complaint of a motor vehicle in a snow bank at the dead end of Birch St. Officers located 28 year old James Albert Bernardi of Queen St. east in the driver's seat. When arrested Bernardi resisted. Bernardi will appear in court on the 23 March 2009 09:00 am charged with having care or control while impaired, resist arrest and fail to provide a breath sample.

4) On the 15 February 2009 at approx. 00:28 am officers on patrol observed a motor vehicle on Second Line East.
The vehicle was swaying in its lane and on 2 occasions brushed the snow bank. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, 38 year old Christopher Robert Cormier of Old Garden River Road was arrested for impaired operation and consume over the legal limit. Cormier will appear in court on the 23 March 2009 at 09:00 a.m.

Domestic Related Incident

On the 14 February 2009 at approx. 6:50 pm a 36 year old male was taken into custody after he dad attended at the residence of his ex-girl friend and broke a rear window. At the time of this occurrence he was on a release order not to attend at this residence nor to communicate with the victim and not to harass or interfere with the victim in any way. The accused will appear in bail court on Tuesday the 17th February 2009 at 10:00 am, where he will answer to the charge of 1 count of mischief, 3 counts of breaching a release order and 1 count of criminal harassment.

Robbery

19 year old Shane Yukich of no fixed abode will appear in bail court today charged with robbery, arson, 3 counts of assault police and 1 count of resist arrest. It is alleged on the 15 February 2009 at approx 3:00 pm that Yukich was at the residence of a person know to him in the 300 block of Albert St. west and took money from that person. When the victim confronted the accused, the accused assaulted the victim by stabbing the victim with a pen several times and then hitting the victim with a table leg. It is further alleged that that during the scuffle the accused pulled a gold chain and silver chain from the victim’s neck and took these as well. The victim fled his apartment but returned approx. 10 minutes later with some friends only to find the accused had left but before doing so it is alleged that he placed a pillow and other article on top of a burner on a gas stove filling the apartment with smoke. The accused was located at the city bus terminal at approx 9:30 pm by officers and when arrested, resisted and assaulted 2 officers by punching them and spitting on a third officer.

Failure to Appear

On the 15th of February 2009 at approx. 08:55 the accused Craig Charles Herriman age 56 of 138 East St. in Sault Ste. Marie was observed by an officer walking on Queen St. The officer arrested the accused on outstanding warrants for failure to appear. Mr. Harriman will appear in bail court on the 17 February 2009 at 10:00 am.

Break and Enters Reported

1) Police are investigating a break and enter to a residence in the 100 block of Wilding Ave. This was reported to police on 13 Feb. 2009. It has not been determined if anything was taken.

2) Police are investigating a break and enter to a residence in the 100 Block of Centennial Ave. This was reported to have occurred on the 13 February 2009. Culprits ransacked the home. It is reported jewelry, small amount of cash and a 22 cal. Smith & Wesson handgun were taken.

3) Police are investigating a break and enter to a residence in the 1900 block of Queen St. East. This is also reported to have occurred on the 13 February 2009. This home was entered and ransacked by culprits and it is unknown what if anything might have been taken.
