Three People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning
25-year old Loretta Carey of 105-135 Cambridge Place was arrested and charged with two counts of breach of an undertaking just before 5 am this morning. It is alleged that City Police attended in the west end of town regarding an intoxicated female. Officers located the accused in the 100 block of Wilding Avenue. A query of the female revealed that she was on an undertaking with conditions not to consume alcohol and to keep the peace and be good.
24-year old Michel Chevrier of no fixed address was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that the accused attended at an address in the 600 block of North Street without the Police to retrieve some personnel belongings. The accused had been released on conditions to only attend at the address in company of the City Police.
A 45-year old male was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on February 12th the accused assaulted his girlfriend while she was at his downtown residence. It is alleged that the accused punched the victim in the face area. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with a number of terms.
Dollarama Store Theft
A 17-year old youth will appear in court on March 14th after being arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that the male stole a chocolate bar from the Dollarama Store in the Station Mall. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with terms.
Assault And Threat Charges
A 15-year old youth was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that early yesterday morning the accused assaulted another youth by punching the victim in the head with his fists. It is further alleged that the youth also threatened the victim. The accused will appear in court on March 21st.
Motor Vehicle Collision On McNabb St.
Yesterday morning just before 10:30 am City Police attended in the 100 block of McNabb Street for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by 78-year old Clarence Moss was traveling westbound on McNabb Street. A van operated by 25-year old Natalie Shawana was traveling eastbound on McNabb Street when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which then spun a 360-degree on the road before striking the Moss vehicle.
A passenger in the Moss vehicle was taken by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Road conditions are described as being icy at the time. The Shawana vehicle received light damage and the Moss vehicle received moderate damage. The matter is still under investigation.
