ARRESTED – FINALLY – FOR THREATENING
In the summer of 2003, a 57-year-old male from Queen Street advised a friend that he was going to harm his wife. Patrol officers conducted an investigation into the incident but were unable to locate the accused and a warrant for Threatening Death or Bodily Harm was issued for him.

Later in the summer the warrant was executed and the male was arrested and charged with the offence. His court date was in the fall of 2003 and when he failed to appear, another warrant for his arrest was issued.

Yesterday at 1:27 pm patrol officers observed the accused on Queen Street East. He was arrested and charged with Threatening Death or Bodily Harm and Failing to Appear in Court. He will appear in bail court today.


YOUTH CHARGED WITH THEFT
Yesterday at approximately 9:10 am, a 14-year-old youth, in the company of two friends, was in Canadian Tire. The young person proceeded to open a package of bottle caps and removed several of them and kept them in his hand. When stopped by security the youth was still holding them.

Police were called and at 10:30 am the young person was arrested and charged with Theft. The accused will appear in court in mid January.


MISCHIEF CHARGE
Yesterday, the accused, a 15-year-old young person used a sharp object to pry open a locked patio door at his residence. In using the object, the accused broke the doorframe of the slider in numerous areas, causing approximately $200 in damage. The accused was also on release conditions to keep the peace and be good.

At 1:53 pm the accused was arrested and charged by police with Mischief and Breach of Probation. The youth will appear in court in mid January.


DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
Last evening just before midnight, patrol officers checked a car in the 1400 block of Queen Street East. Officers found the driver, Maria Fyfe, age 37 of 163 Pim Street to be displaying signs of alcohol impairment.

At 11:53 pm the driver was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving. She was transported to the Police Services Building, where she refused to provide a sample of her breath for testing. She has been charged with Impaired Driving and Failing to Provide a Sample. She will appear in court on January 12.


BREAK & ENTER
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated one break-in yesterday. Just before 9:00 am officers were called to Superior Pizza at 114 Poplar Avenue. A small quantity of change was taken. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact police at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers.
