Female Charged With Assault
Yesterday officers arrested a female for an assault that took place on the 4th of December at 2:00am in the downtown area. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a female by punching her in the face and upper body causing non-life threatening injuries. Toni Binda age 21 of 52 Smale Avenue is to appear in court on the 10th of January 2005, after being charged with one count of assault.
Two Youth Charged With Stolen Property
On the 7th of December in the early morning hours two persons were found entering vehicles in the Tilley Road area. It is alleged that Lance Wabigwan 19years old of 147 Biggings Avenue and a youth had been stealing numerous items from vehicles. Both accused were found with stolen property in their possession. Both accused were charged with 1 count of possession of stolen property, 1 count of theft under $5000.00 and 1 count of trespass by night. Lance Wabigwan is to appear in bail court today and the young person is to appear in court on the 11th of January.
Drug Charges Laid
On the 6th of December in the early after noon hours the Joint Forces Drug Unit along with members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team executed a warrant at 56 Pozzebon Crescent. Located in the search was 30.6 g of cannabis marihuana with a street value of approx. $600, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash. Charged with 1 count each of possession of a controlled substance were, 20yr old Chris Stadnisky, 47yr old Frank Stadnisky and 47yr old Luann Stadnisky all of 56 Pozzebon Crescent. The accused Chris Stadnisky was also charged with 1 count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and 1 count of possession of stolen property. They are to appear in court on the 10th of January.
Female Charged With Fraud
On the 6th of December officers arrested 23yr old Angela Vella of London Ontario with 1 count of use of stolen credit card data, 1 count of possession of stolen property obtained by crime, 1 count of personation, 1 count of fraud and 1 count of breach of release document for failing to notify change of address. It is alleged that the accused purchased and used gift certificates for a local business with a stolen credit card. She will appear in bail court this morning.
