On December 22, 2015 at 3:30 a.m. City Police observed a vehicle north bound on Great Northern Road. When police approached the vehicle the driver of the vehicle accelerated and police followed the vehicle. The vehicle fled police at a high rate of speed. Police followed the vehicle to the area of Old Goulais Bay Road where the vehicle went off the road into the ditch. A single occupant exited the vehicle on foot attempting to flee police. Police followed the accused through the snow and finally apprehended the accused. The accused is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation lead to the following charges: Having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired, having care and control of a motor vehicle with over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. The accused Jesse Ronald Beach, age 23, is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2016 at 9 a.m.
