ONE ARRESTED IN MAJOR CREDIT CARD FRAUD Yesterday at 1:55 p.m., detectives from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Investigation Services Fraud Unit, arrested 36-year-old Jonathan Alabi, of 103-1916 Weston Road, Toronto.
ONE ARRESTED IN MAJOR CREDIT CARD FRAUD
Yesterday at 1:55 p.m., detectives from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Investigation Services Fraud Unit, arrested 36-year-old Jonathan Alabi, of 103-1916 Weston Road, Toronto. After a lengthy investigation and with the assistance of investigators from Canada Post Corporation and Banking Security Service Personnel, Alabi has been charged with numerous offences.

Using false identities and names of people from Western Canada, Alabi went to the post office and forged six change of address cards for vacant local addresses. Alabi would then apply for credit cards using the false names and addresses. He then opened numerous post office boxes at various postal outlets in the city.

While impersonating these individuals, Alabi went to Canada Post and made change of address notices redirecting mail, such as the fraudulent credit cards, to the post office boxes. Alabi, while personating these individuals, went one step further and fraudulently registered companie
