DRUG BUST Early yesterday afternoon officers from the joint forces drug unit executed a search warrant at unit #12, 714 Second Line West.
DRUG BUST

Early yesterday afternoon officers from the joint forces drug unit executed a search warrant at unit #12, 714 Second Line West. Officers found what is believed to be 36 marihuana plants, 19 containers with psylocibin (magic mushroom), a small amount of cannabis resin and a small amount of cannabis marihuana.

The value of the marihuana plants is $6000 and the psylocibin is valued at $8500. Charged with 2 counts of production of a controlled substance and 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance is 28 year-old John Wesley Kerhanovich. A court date of June 7th has been set.

TURNS SELF IN

Michael Vincent Dale age 29 of 60 Talon Avenue was charged with threatening to cause bodily harm and will appear in court on May 31st. An incident from the 9th of April alleges that Mr. Dale attended at a local gas bar and threatened to break the legs of one of the employees. Mr. Dale turned himself in to detectives with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service last night.

BREACHING UNDERTAKING

A 19 year-old male was charged with breaching his undertaking by communicating with the victim from a domestic assault. On April 11th the accused is alleged to have phoned the victim from a domestic incident that he was on conditions not to do. The accused is now scheduled to appear in court on May31st after turning himself in to the city police last night at approximately 9:35 pm.

WEAPONS ASSAULT

32 year-old Stephen Joseph Gagne of Pic River Road, Heron Bay Ontario will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm following a stabbing incident on Queen Street East at 1:00 this morning. The accused is alleged to have stabbed the victim in the back with a paring knife. The victim was treated and released for his injuries at the Sault Area Hospital. When the accused was located near the Holiday Inn, a search subsequent to his arrest revealed that he was carrying a paring knife in his pants pocket.

THREATENING CHARGES

A family related incident at approximately 7:30 last night led to the arrest of 1 adult and 2 young persons. All three accused face a charge of threatening to cause bodily harm after they allegedly phoned and threatened a relative of one of the young persons involved. All three accused persons were arrested at the same residence at 12:45 this morning. The young offenders are scheduled to appear in court on May 25th and the adult is scheduled to be in court on May
