One Domestic Related Bail Court Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33 year-old male yesterday afternoon at a west end location and charged him with one count of criminal harassment and one count of break and enter into a dwelling. It is alleged that in the early morning hours on the 1st of September the accused broke into the residence of his ex-girlfriend while she was asleep. Police were called, but the accused fled prior to their arrival. Officers investigating the incident discovered that the accused has been criminally harassing the victim since their break up four months prior.

Male Arrested for Robbery and Assault
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47 year-old Douglas Atkinson of 23 Anderson Road at his residence at 2:15 pm yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of robbery, one count of assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 31st of August at approximately 10:00 pm, the accused assaulted a male known to him punching and kneeing him several times in the face and head area. During the assault, the accused demanded money from the 49 year-old victim. The victim turned over some cash and fled from the accused male’s residence. The accused also threatened to harm the victim further if he called the police. The assault was reported to police the next morning, an investigation commenced and the accused was subsequently arrested. The accused is to appear in court on the 4th of October.

Motorcycle and Vehicle Collision
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at a collision yesterday afternoon at approximately 12:41 pm on Great Northern Road that involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. It is alleged that a Ford Explorer pulled out of the Macdonald’s parking lot onto Great Northern Road and was struck by a motorcycle that had been travelling southbound on Great Northern Road. The 20 year-old male driver of the motorcycle was taken to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer, 48 year-old Nicole Belanger-Dunn of 530 Kelly Creek Road, Goulais River Ontario was charged with one count of fail to yield from driveway under the Highway Traffic Act.

Break and Enters
• A residence on Wallace Terrace was entered sometime overnight on the 1st of September. U.S. Cash was reported stolen
• A residence in the 100 block of Tancred Street was entered last evening just before 6 pm. A television was reported stolen.
• A shed in the 100 block of Church Street was entered sometime during the past two weeks. A lawnmower, a chainsaw, a weedwacker and tools were reported stolen.

Thefts
• Vehicles were entered on Connaught Avenue, Lethbridge Street, Melville Road. A wallet, an external hard drive, a passport and cash were reported stolen.
• Licence plates were stolen from two vehicles in the west end.

Mischief Reports
• Vehicle damage - A driver’s side mirror was broken off on Birchland Court sometime last evening.
• A fence board on a property on Third Line West was damaged.
