A break and enter was reported to a residence in the 500 block of MacDonald Avenue today between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. while the homeowner was out. A window was entered and a small amount of cash taken.

On the 17th of September, 2014 at approximately 9 a.m., Patrol Services charged Joshua Brandon Smith of Parliament Street, for attempting to escape from lawful custody. Accused will be appearing in bail court on September 18, 2014.

On the 17th of September, 2014 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Patrol Services arrested a 15-year old male youth for shoplifting and breaching his Probation Order at the Canadian Tire Store. The accused stole DVD’s value $4.50 and breached his probation by not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. The accused will appear in Youth Court on October 21, 2014.

On the 17th of September, 2014 at approximately 3:57 p.m., Patrol Services responded to the corner of Albert Street West and Carman’s Way with regards to a complaint that a motor vehicle was parked in the middle of the roadway. Upon speaking to the operator of the motor vehicle police detected the order of alcohol on his breath. As a result, a roadside screening device demand was made to the driver, who refused to provide a sample. 66-year-old Bela Farkas of Kohler Street was charged with one count of failing to provide a sample on an approved screening device. He will appear in Court on October 20, 2014.

On the 17th of September, 2014 at approximately 9:26 p.m., officers from Investigation and Patrol Services stopped a motor vehicle on North Street as a result of receiving information that the driver was impaired. Officers believed that the accused has been drinking and he was brought to the police station for a breathalyzer test. As a result of this, 50-year-old Kevin Christopher Hammond of John Street was charged with one count impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit.  He will appear in court on October 20, 2014.

On the 18th of September, 2014 at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers from Patrol Services arrested 51-year-old Edward Roland Martel of Korah Road, on an outstanding warrant for fail to re-attend court. It is alleged that the accused fail to re-attend a court date in May that stemmed from a shoplifting matter. The accused has been charged with one count of fail to attend court and will appear in bail court today.
