On the 22 August 2014 a man attended one of the local Pawn Brokers. He passed off a chainsaw as his own and received cash from the exchange. It was discovered that the power tool was not his and in fact was stolen from a recent garage break in. Charged with possession of stolen property is Michael Johnston (age 47). He will be appearing in court on the 20 October 2014 at 9 a.m.
On the 10th of September, 2014, patrol officers recovered a stolen motor vehicle, a Red Dodge Caravan in the area of Centennial Avenue. Incident still under investigation, no suspects at this time.
On September 10, 2014 Patrol Services investigated a Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Collision. The MVC occurred at the intersection of Pine Street and McNabb Street at 4:20 p.m. Persons travelling in a red Dodge Caravan were travelling southbound on Pine Street and were struck from behind by another southbound vehicle believed to be a white Infiniti car. The suspected driver was described as a young female, 19-25 years old, who left the scene. Both the driver and passenger of the Dodge Caravan suffered minor injuries. The MVC is still under investigation by SSMPS Traffic Services.
