U.S. RESIDENT CHARGED
At 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, city police arrested 38-year-old Bradley Robinson for driving while disqualified.

Yesterday evening, at 7:45, police observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on Albert Street East. Upon stopping the vehicle officers discovered the driver, Bradley Robinson, was impaired by alcohol.

He was subsequently arrested for Impaired Driving and Driving While Disqualified. At the station Mr. Robinson refused a breath test.

Bradley Robinson of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan will be appearing in Bail Court today on charges of: Impaired Driving, Refuse Breath Sample, and two counts of Driving While Disqualified.


STOLEN PLATES
At 1:00 this morning, city police stopped a vehicle on Queen Street West. Investigation showed that the plates on the vehicle were reported stolen.

As a result 24-year–old James Seabrook, of 180 Glasgow Avenue, was charged with Possession of Stolen Property. He will be appearing in court on Nov. 22 at 9:00 a.m. to face this charge.


PARENT CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Yesterday afternoon a playground scuffle between two youths has resulted in a parent being charged with assault. It is alleged that 38-year-old Allan Bernard, of 41 Princess Cres. assault a youth by punching him in the face. Mr. Bernard will be appearing in court on Nov. 22 at 9:00 a.m.


BREAK AND ENTERS
City Police are investigating the following break and enters:

At 3:00 this morning three males were seen breaking the front window and entering the Algoma Transmission Shop on Wallace Terrace at Goulais Ave. Witnesses reported seeing three suspects running from the break-in towards Douglas Ave.

A resident in the 100 block of Prentice Avenue called police yesterday morning at 11:40 to report that someone was breaking into her home. Culprits fled upon discovering that the tenant was home.

A residence in the 600 block of Goulais Ave. was entered by breaking a basement window. It is unknown if any thing was taken at this time.

A home in the 100 block of Thorneloe Dr. was also entered.

Anyone with information any of these break-ins is asked to call the City Police.


MISCHIEF REPORTS
There were also a few reports of mischief from overnight. Vandals smashed the windows out of a truck parked at the rear of World Cars, 967 Trunk Road. A car parked in the 1000 block of North Street was vandalized as was a trailer parked in the 2300 block of Base Line.

The Believer Bible Chapple, on Henry St. was spray painted, in several locations, with graffiti.


BEWARE OF SCAM ARTISTS
Information has been received that several individuals are in Sault Ste. Marie approaching residents and performing demonstrations of "Air Purifiers".

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service suggests that all consumers use caution when receiving telephone calls promising a "prize" or a "free trip" if they allow a demonstration of the product in their home. Consumers are warned that high-pressure sales tactics may cause them to make purchases or decisions they normally would not.

The following information may protect you:

• Consumers should know that any contract signed in the home worth more than $50.00 can be cancelled within 10 days

• Before being pushed into buying anything, ask yourself if you really need the product, ensure you have the name and address of the seller and local contact information, and don't be pushed into a purchase because of a "limited time offer" or "discount"

• Don't be fooled by offers that sound too good to be true or promises that the product will improve or change your health problems
